At the moment, I need to keep reminding myself that my emotional response to things is out of proportion to the actual reality of the situation. I am indeed overreacting.
There is a course starting in September just up the road from me, run by Sensory Solutions. It is a year long herbal apprenticeship (not cheap, but worth the money) and if I was in the country I would be all over it like an overenthusiastic labrador! But I ain't.
Now what I will be doing is wicked and amazing and a chance of a lifetime, and it isn't like I don't want to go. I just think it's fecking typical that this kinda thing crops up now when I won't be here.
And like I said, I am disportionately disappointed about it. Not entirely sure whether this disappointment is from the fact I have finally found a course that I want to, or that I should have been doing this type of work on my own and just got on with it. Is my procrastination kicking me up the arse again?
The thing is, yes, I could have probably done it on my own, but it is nice to speak to like-minded people that don't think you are bonkers and can help you out if the need arises.
And finally, Daisies taste of Happy and Rocket(Arugula)

Waiting
Waiting. I seem to spend a lot of my time waiting. Waiting for people to ring, text me, turn up, but at the moment we are waiting for what could possibly one of the most important decisions in our lives so far.
We are waiting to see if Neil has been successful in getting a job. Now that doesn't sound particularly unusual, but this job happens to be on the other side of the world. We will find out if he has it some point next week. Next week isn't that far away, but it feels like an eternity.
I hate waiting.

The last few moments of the first decade of the 21st century.
Was a decade that you can be proud of?
Was 2009 a good year to you?
What did it teach you, what did it make you grateful for? What could you quite happily stuck back up the backside of 2009?
What are you looking forward to in 2010?
One thing I am looking forward to is quite silly, but still. Being about to say TwentyTen, rather than the mouthful that is TwoThousandAndNine.
2009 in all honesty, has been a bit of a pig of a year in many respects. Globally, locally, and personally. Lots of it has been happening to other people, affecting me indirectly, but the stress levels have been fucking high.
Specifics are boring, so I won't go into detail, but things are in motion for some kind of resolution which is good. The waiting isn't though.
My health took a bit of a battering this year. I don't do stress well, I internalise it, and I get fat and rashy. This is going to stop, as I KNOW that I must be healthy for my sake as much as anyone elses. Am sick and tired of feeling sick and tired, so it is definately time to get off my lazy bum and do something about it.
Hopefully 2010 will be the year of Good Change, the changes we want, rather than the ones that get thrust upon us and we just have to deal with as well as possible. (2009 was made of Bad Change or Stagnation. Not a good mixture.)
So yeah, goodbye 2009, you did suck at times, so don't let the door hit you on the way out, and welcome 2010. Let's kick some arse together!
